PolyVision® Welcomes Technology Innovator Nancy Sturm as Director of Education Strategy

Nationally Recognized Science Educator to Help Teachers Engage Students in New Ways through Interactive Classroom Solutions

SUWANEE, GA (October 15, 2008) PolyVision announces the addition of Nancy Sturm as Director of Educational Strategy. As an innovator in embracing technology to teach science, Nancy brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her new role.

At PolyVision, Nancy will direct the education market strategy and strengthen key partnerships with industry leaders to create comprehensive solutions for success in today’s classrooms. She also will be responsible for leading the PolyVision Education Team, which delivers training, consulting, mentoring and professional development to teachers as they integrate technology into the classroom.

“PolyVision is pleased to welcome Nancy Sturm to our team,” said Ken Nelson, Senior Vice President of Sales. “Nancy is an incredible resource for educators and her contributions as a visionary leader in improving education via technology are renowned. Her knowledge, experience and leadership skills will help PolyVision deliver on our promise to bring learning to life for the next generation of learners.”

From kindergarten classrooms to university settings, technology is changing the way learning happens. By the time today’s students begin school, they are already astute users of technology; traditional learning environments must evolve to meet students where they are—as savvy, high-tech learners—and prepare them for the future. PolyVision interactive classroom solutions offer flexible, innovative ways to transform traditional classrooms into integrated, collaborative and dynamic learning environments.

Nancy draws on her expertise as an educator and innovator in technology integration. Prior to joining PolyVision, Nancy led the Challenger Learning Center at Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia. This program gives students the opportunity to participate in hands-on simulated space missions as they learn more about math, science and teamwork. She trained thousands of teachers to use technology to help students succeed in the classroom and beyond. Nancy also created, developed and marketed the first online space simulation delivered through technology and used by other Challenger Learning Centers across the country. As the Education Technology Advisor to West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin III, she was responsible for the design and development of the first online simulation game for teachers to play to practice classroom discipline strategies and has been recognized nationally for her work developing and leading educational technology programs.

“As technology continues to transform the ways teachers teach and students learn, it is becoming ever more important that classroom tools serve them well,” said Sturm. “I am very pleased to be joining PolyVision and to be part of a team that is passionate about helping teachers and students bring learning to life in the classroom.”
